Anthony Lorenzoni-President and Trustee

 

Anthony Lorenzoni was a member of Stockton Boy Scout Troop 124 as a youth and received his Eagle Scout in 1985.It was YCSR where he attended summer camp for 4 years as a boy.Anthony is married to his wife Tammy and has two sons involved in Scouting.He recently became active again in the Scouting program about 4 years ago when his 1st son Shayne (currently an Arrow of Light Scout) joined Lambertville Pack 32 as a Tiger Scout.His 2nd son Logan is now a Tiger Scout.Anthony started his volunteer career as a Tiger Den Leader and has since played the roles of Wolf Den Leader, Webelos Den Leader and Asst. Cubmaster of Pack 32.One of his more recent endeavors has been being one of the founders of a new Boy Scout Troop 65 in Ringoes, N.J. where he will serve as the Scoutmaster.He has worked very diligently in being able to surround himself with the best leadership available to get this new Troop off the ground and to start their legacy.

 

It was at Webelos Woods 2010 when Anthony and James Moorehead had a vision to start the group Friends of Yards Creek Scout Reservation so that the camp property could be revitalized and be available for use by all boys in the future.He has since become more active at the District and Council level with his current position as Adopt a Site Chairman for the Council Camping committee.Anthony was recently awarded his Wood Badge beads, is a past Cub Scouter of the Year recipient and was also awarded the Pahaquarra District Award of Merit at the 2011 District Recognition Dinner.

 

He is very proud to be able to work alongside the other Scouters that share his passion in attempting to provide the best Scouting and Outdoor experience they can to the youth of the CNJC council and others.He is truly honored to call these leaders his “Friends”.Anthony truly believes that with commitment and dedication, Yards Creek Scout Reservation can be a place we are all proud of.

 

James Moorehead -Vice President and Trustee

 

James Moorehead was a scout as a boy, and achieved the rank of 2nd Class. James joined Pack 145 as a Den Leader, in 2006, and then Cub Master. James earned the Pahaquarra District Cub Master of the Year award in 2010, and has since earned the Cub Scouter and Cub Master Square knots, as well as the Webelos Leader knot. He has taken every training available to him as an adult leader. He earned his Wood Badge beads in 2010, and was the Program Director of Cub Scout Day Camp in the summer of 2010 and 2011 at Yards Creek Scout Reservation. James watched his first son Daniel cross over into Boy Scouts in 2010 at Webelos Woods, and will be watching Jacob cross over this year in 2012. James is involved in Friends of Yards Creek Scout Reservation because he believes in scouting, and in the positive effect a good quality camping program has on our boys. His goal is to improve the camp for future generations, and to leave it better than he found it.

 

 

Doug Walker -  Vice President

 

 

 

Doug Walker was a Boy Scout in Troop 288 in Annandale, NJ where he spent seven summers attending Yards Creek Scout Reservation from 1986-1992 and achieved the rank of Star.  Doug returned to Scouting in 2011 and is now a Den Leader and the Assistant Cubmaster for Pack 114 in Alexandria, NJ.  Since rejoining, Doug has earned the Tiger Cub Den Leader knot, as well as the New Plugger award from the Pahaquarra District.  Additionally, Doug is the Cub Scout Activities Chairperson for the Pahaquarra District in the Central NJ Council.  Doug is a member of the Central NJ Council’s Camping Committee, and sits on the YCSR subcommittee.

 

 

 

Doug is also working with Anthony Lorenzoni and several other scouters to put together a collection of historical memorabilia for Yards Creek Scout Reservation, Kittatinny Mountain Scout Reservation, Camp Pahaquarra, Camp Cowaw, Camp Sakawawin, George Washington Scout Camp (“The Rock”), Sanhican Lodge #2, Cowaw Lodge #9, Sakawawin Lodge #287, Narraticong Lodge #9, Sakuwit Lodge #2, George Washington Council, Raritan Council, Middlesex Council,. Trenton Council, Thomas A Edison Council, Jenny Jump District, Hunterdon Arrowhead District, Sanhican District, Pahaquarra District, Mattameechen District, Mercer Area District, Joyce Kilmer District, Lenape Trail District, Stony Brook District, Area 2C, NE-4B, NE-2A, NE-5A and Philmont.

 

Additionally, Doug is an avid fly-fisherman, and has been published in Eastern Fly Fishing magazine.

Jean Thayer- Secretary and Trustee

 

Jean Thayer joined the Boy Scout movement when her older son became a Tiger Cub in Fall of 1997. She was his Den Leader throughout his 5 years of Cub Scouting. She became Cub Master for the next 2 years when he moved to Boy Scouts & she was, at the same time an Assistant Scout Master to Troop 138. When her younger son bridged over to the troop, she became Scout Master & has been for 6 years. She also started up and ran Cub Scout Day Camp for 1 week each summer at Yards Creek Scout Reservation from 2001-2009.She was also the Ecology Director at KMSR camp summer of 2009. She has recently taken on the responsibilities of the Hornaday Award Councilor for Pahaquarra District. She earned the District Award of Merit in 2002 and the Silver Beaver Award in 2011. Yards Creek was the first council camp that she camped at with her sons and they all love this beautiful camp. Her younger son, accompanied by her, was the first Boy Scout to officially cross the bridge in the first district Webelos Crossover Ceremony.

Bob Trinneer-Trustee

 

Bob was a Cub Scout and a Boy Scout, and achieved the rank of Life. Bob joined scouting as a leader with Pack 164, first as a Tiger Den Leader, then Den Leader, then Cubmaster and finishing his Cub Leader career as Committee Chairman. Bob is currently the Charter Rep. for Pack 164 and has been Scoutmaster with Boy ScoutTroop 158 in Hackettstown for the past 2 years. He is very active in scouting and has taken every training available to him as an adult leader. He is Wood Badge trained and believes in giving back, for all of the opportunities scouting has brought him and his family. Bob is actively involved in the Friends of Yards Creek Scout Reservation and enjoys working on the camp with his oldest son who is currently a Star Scout. His loving and supportive wife and 2 daughters are active with the Girl Scouts and his youngest son will soon start his scouting journey as a Tiger Scout. His personal goal is to make our camps a place that will make us all proud.

Pam Getz-Fundraising Chair

 

 

Pam Getz has been a den leader for Washington Twp. Pack 145 since 2007 when her oldest son started as a Tiger Scout.Since then she has become very active in the Pack and started a second den when her younger son joined scouting.Pam has also volunteered for Summer Day Camp at Yards Creek each summer in order to spend more time with her boys and now has recently joined FoYCSR.The decision to volunteer on the FoYCSR committee was a very easy one.After participating in many events at Yards Creek it became more and more obvious that the camp was in need of some much needed TLC.So when the opportunity arose she was on board and ready to help in any way she could.
